Current global issues in health and social care

The health and social care sector are one of the most impacting industry sectors to an economy. Given its importance in saving and maintaining human life, most of the governments around the world are providing priority to the health care sector.
Currently the whole world is undergoing a special unpredicted health care issue with the spread of the covid-19. The virus which was spread through people was initially found in China, where its origin was not clear. The virus impacted the human immune system and made it weak where the patient had to suffer. The spread was fast, and the number of death tolls were increasing daily by 2021. However, with strict controls over the way people behave, commute and travel the pandemic was gotten under control by 2022. The vaccination which was providing the required protection was also effective where the spread of the virus was fully controlled and now most of the countries are turning back into their normal behavior. (Akay et al, 2022)
Due to this pandemic and other economic downturn created from the stopped transportation and world trade, the world is also facing an inflationary situation. This was further worsened by the rescission which reduced the production of primary crops. This impacted a worldwide inflation and reduced supply of food and other items which are required in production. Further the medicine supply was fairly impacted due to reduce production and increased costs.
Overall, the pandemic which was followed by the inflation impacted the health care sectors of many countries. (Akay et al, 2022) Depending on the country’s financial situation, the level of impact was changing. That is, when there was a vaccination, the rich countries were able to obtain that first where developing countries got that a bit late. Overall, most of the countries were able to control the spreading of pandemic via many methods such as travel restrictions, vaccination and proper healthcare treatments.
